Steven Peskind, MD

Medical Director
Dr. Peskind is a Board Certified Otolaryngologist providing ear, nose, throat, allergy and sinus services to infants, children, teenagers, adults and seniors.

As the Medical Director of Enhanced Hearing, Dr. Peskind and Dr. Bernthal work closely to monitor and maintain your hearing health. The unique collaboration of having an ear, nose and throat physician and audiologist working together allows for immediate consultation in the event you may have an incidental infection, unusual hearing loss, or simply need ear wax removal to complete your hearing evaluation.

Beth Bernthal, AuD, CCC-A

Certified, Licensed Doctor of Audiology
Dr. Bernthal provides comprehensive audiology services to our patients with 25 years of experience evaluating hearing and fitting hearing aids for all ages, infant to elderly. She specializes in assessing and identifying central auditory processing disorders and helps patients through counseling in the use of assistive device technology. In addition, she helps patients with tinnitus, and develops rehabilitation plans that minimize the negative impact of tinnitus on their lives.

Dr. Bernthal spent many years as faculty associate and clinical supervisor in the doctorate audiology programs at the University of Texas at Dallas Callier Center for Communication Disorders, and at the University of North Texas Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences. She’s also worked in medical centers, private practice, and hearing instrument settings. Dr. Bernthal is devoted to serving patients with hearing difficulties and their families. She is committed to bringing best practices and current technology to our patients.

Dr. Bernthal earned her doctor of audiology degree from the University of Florida, and her masters and bachelors degrees in audiology and communication disorders from Western Michigan University. She holds a certificate of clinical competence in audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and is licensed to practice audiology by the Texas Department of State Health Services. Dr. Bernthal is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and a member of the Texas Academy of Audiology. When she isn’t at work, Dr. Bernthal enjoys exercise, going to the theater and museums, and spending time with her family and friends.

Christi Johnson

Hearing Healthcare Coordinator
Christi Johnson is the Hearing Healthcare Coordinator for Enhanced Hearing Professionals. She works closely with Dr. Bernthal and Dr. Peskind to ensure our patients’ hearing needs are properly met and managed. Christi specializes in scheduling your appointments, hearing aid repair and cleaning, and assisting you with warranty and accessory needs. In her free time, Christi enjoys crafting, going to the movie theater and fishing with her husband.

Lisa Guerra, M.A., CCC-A

Lisa Guerra is a licensed audiologist who provides diagnostic evaluations for problems of hearing and balance for patients of all ages. She has 22 years of experience and earned her Master of Arts in Audiology and Bachelor of Science in Communications Sciences and Disorders from the University of Texas at Austin. She holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, is licensed to practice Audiology by the Texas Department of State Health Services and is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology.

Elizabeth Chilcote Au.D., CCC-A

Elizabeth Chilcote Au.D., CCC-A began working with Dr. Peskind in 2005. She has extensive experience in hearing evaluations for children and adults and in the fitting and programming of hearing aids. Dr. Chilcote received special training in the diagnosis and treatment of vertigo. She earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Arizona, Master’s of Science from the University of North Texas and her Doctor in Audiology from Salus University. Dr. Chilcote is certified by the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association, and is licensed in Audiology by the State of Texas.
